Through the last few years, the CKPDL has lost some great players. Players like, Jim Barks, Larry Barks, Gary Osbourne and now we're sad to hear the passing of Bill Daniels. Bill was a great player and a great guy. The CKPDL players are all sad of this news and send our condolences to his family and mostly Doug his brother, who was also part of the league. Gonna miss you Bill.
CKPDL premier dart league is fourteen seasons strong and counting! The CKPDL was put together with the top ten dart players in the area just to see how competitive darts could exist. Fourteen seasons later, we are now 21 strong and growing. There is now a waiting list to play this great game. The idea of the league was one of not just to let the top players in, but now is a format for players only to improve their game to be able to compete at their best! We have a great bunch of players and a great platform for playing the game to its potential.

This year the league has brought some new challenges
for the players. Different players on different nights will compete
against each other throwing at the bull (red =2 - green= 1) in a time limit challenge. The players have one minute each to throw as many bulls as possible before the whistle blows. The first players to compete were Wayne, Eddie and Jim D. Wayne came out on top with 7 , followed by Eddie with 6 and Jim D with 5. The winner collects 20 dollars towards their winnings at the end of the year.
Pictured are Wayne , Jim D and Eddie.
The mystery challenge was a 9 dart fun one. The players were instructed to put their darts down on the table and told they could not use their own darts for the challenge. Then the next twist was they had to shoot with their opposite hand. The winner was under review , because he shot better with his wrong hand then his regular hand. All kidding aside it was fun to watch players adapt to different elements of the game. Frank won with a score of 197 using Joe's darts. Kyle had a 107 with Frank's darts Bill had a 101 with Brian's darts. Brian had a 73 with Bill's darts. Dave had a 67 with Bill's darts and Joe had a 48 with Kyle's darts. Thanks guys, that was fun.
The nine dart challenge had a little twist that the players didn't know about when they were ready to start. As the players were warming up, Bill had a little twist up his sleeve. The players were not able to use their darts, but instead they were going to throw shed darts. These darts weigh about 14g and made mostly of plastic. The other bad news was , there were no warm up shots. Yep, you started cold turkey. It certainly changed the dynamics a bit. The players did have fun and sure made for a good challenge. Mat was the winner with a score of 166, followed by Scott with 155. Mike K had 133, Jim M with 99, Mike R 93 and Eddie with 68.
It was a good night of darts Thursday night with the wildcard matches.
One high lite was a 161 out from Kyle. The players missing from this pic is Sean and Gary.
These are the results from the wildcard rd that was done on April 25th.

These matches will be worth a watch. There are a couple of matches that will be revenge matches and have the potential to go right to the end of set 5. This round will be determined by shooting for the bull to see who starts the match . Having the darts to start the match will be a big advantage for sure. This is a first to 3 match, so start out strong guys! Good luck.
WAYNE VS BLAIR - WAYNE
FRANK VS JIM M - FRANK
EDDIE VS JIM D - EDDIE
MIKE R VS JOHN - MIKE R
MAT VS KYLE - KYLE
RICK VS JEROME - JEROME
SCOTT VS JOE - SCOTT
KEVIN VS MIKE K - KEVIN
All these matches were worth watching! There were 2 upsets last night, Rick and Mat were eliminated from the top 16 and Kyle and Jerome will continue on. Although all the matches were good, the match of the night was Rick vs Jerome. They fought right down to the last leg of the last set and Jerome came out on top. Hats off guys, that was a great night of darts.
How does a guy like Luke Combs have time to stop in to play darts when he's on the top of the country charts?
What a treat it has been to have "CHARB" back in the league! Dave was as you know , one of the first to be in the league not just as a player but one of the creators of the CKPDL. His absence from the league not only put a void of a great player missing, but just a great friend missing. His return to the league has been a bit of a learning curve for him this year, but he'll be back in good form for the upcoming season. Good to see you back Dave.
